Dreams
When Josh, from The Remedi Project, asked us if we could contribute a piece for the online gallery we promptly replied, “Most definitely”. Two weeks later we submitted a piece that would be the repository for people’s dreams.

Anyway, since i’ve never seen X-men, my brain took the opportunity to fuck it up real good. there was a lot of good and bad X-men, all new, like..a guy who can control you with hihs mind, and a girl who can read in your thoughts (though I think she exists in the movie) a guy who transforms himself in a weird glow worm, and …uh,..a lot of other fine weird stuff. The fun thing was that I was in the middle of the action all the time, and the action took place in my hometown, of course. It was crazy.

In the front of the class there was a monkey that was standing up and waving its arms as if to do jumping jacks. It looked over to me outside of the class, the teacher from his desk did the same, and then the monkey said “abbottmania!” I often think of things like abbottmania and abbottaholic or abbottalicious, but don’t know why a monkey would have said this. Then a chipmunk that was on his shoulder hopped off, a little thing, six inches tall standing up, and told me in Japanese to come in. I don’t know why I understood it, but I think that it was Japanese. Then I woke up to my roommate playing a game with the shuffle-board playing elves over the internet – a kind of Christmas game. So that is my dream.

It’s not a pleasant one, especially after the events at Cottesloe of late, of which anyone in Perth will know of. My dream, or rather my nightmare, is this: I’m swimming in the ocean. Or rather, I’m bodyboarding. I don’t remember how I get there, or why I’m there other than to bodyboard. It is my sole purpose in this dream – to enjoy being in the ocean, and to swim. But moments into my dream everything changes. The sky goes dark, and one of two things happen. Either I get attacked by a shark and mauled to death, or a tsunami comes through and drowns me. Neither of which are pleasant, and neither of which occur together. In the dream, I do not get drowned by a wave in the form of a shark, nor does a tusnami maul me to death. This is not an important detail. Regardless, I wake up in a cold sweat. It looked like a lake but it was a huge bay within an undulating landscape. For some reason I was standing in the water, I think I was looking for something but I forgot what. Waterplants with huge, thick, dark brow leaves covered the bottom. Suddenly the tide turned, ebb begain. This all happened extremely fast and the water dropped almost ten meters so that suddenly I was at a steep slope of slippery green plants. I could now see that the coast line consisted of weird shaped rock formations. Below me, at the ‘new’ coast line, there were people walking. Water was still streaming down the steep hill, sweeping away plants and leaving a path of sand and pebbles. Jumping and sliding over the plants I reached the water. The people didn’t really interest me, I was looking at the ground, perhaps I’d been searching for fossiles. Something glittering at the foot of a large yellow rock caught my eye. A small stream from above had washed down little colored pebbles, the tides had polished them to perfect drops. They were mostly half transparent bleu and red with kristal lines within. I had found one that was totally clear, a little flat transparent blob, with a tinier yellow-brown transparent blob on top of it, like a raw egg. But then I woke up… damn… all my beautifull pebbles gone…
